Seriously can't rate this experience high enough! What an absolute gem of a place. If you want tranquility, want to step back in time, learn about the history and prepare to be amazed..then this is for you. From the moment we stepped into the boat to leaving we were all looked after so well. The staff dressed up in authentic costume of yesteryear which added to the experience. The skipper Phil had an amazing wealth of information and really engaged with all visitors. He added humour with his talk.The family run business is clearly a passion of theirs. Any profit made goes towards looking after the future of the horse drawn barge and the canal maintenance. The beauty of this place you can while away the time..and come away feeling totally relaxed. The additional floating barge cafe offers refreshments and there are also rowing boats to hire. Everything is such good value and you are guaranteed a warm welcome. Highly recommended

Amazing experience! A must-see attraction in Tiverton. The staff are wonderful and this is a day you'll never forget as you enjoy the peace, tranquility, views, and wildlife of the Grand Western Canal. You'll also learn some interesting history about the canal. Being only 1 of 4 of these left, you have to try it! It's like stepping back in time, especially as everyone has to turn their phone off, and at one part of the journey the skipper asked for a few mins of silence and this was so wonderful and something we rarely experience. Hearing nothing but the clip clop of the hooves, gentle water, and birds, was an unforgettable time. We only did the sort trip but I wished after that we'd booked the longer one. Next time I am in England I will be back!
